Life Drawing Final


The assignment was to "clothe" one of our class  models and add background.  We could take inspiration from an artist.  I hope it is obvious I chose Matisse.

This image is one of the Matisse odalisques with the face of our model. The purple and white striped robed is ubiquitous in Matisse paintings of women. I need to reduce the width of the painting so I could work more easily on my board. I changed the position of the left arm and modernized the hair style.
