Model in Pattern

This assignment was about the background, adding patterns to offset the figure.  As you can see, I did only half the assignment, but I thought the background looked like a beautiful sunset and added to the feeling of tranquility and repose.

The  young woman represents a type, not a likeness of any specific person. The chiaroscuro treatment is more masklike than shadow.
